Phase 2 commenced in January '05. Forrest & Walsh are the main contractors and Norris's Engineering, Stradbally are erecting the steel works. The steel frame has been erected and 90% completed. The contractor has provided a draft building programme with completion date of 27th June 2005.

The next phase will be the roof, doors & windows, followed by the mechanical and electrical works.

We have been allocated a Childcare grant of €390,000 from the Department of Justice, Equality & Law Reform, before Christmas, which should be a big help towards the completion of the childcare facility. This will include a crèche and playschool for up to 30 children.

We are also highly grateful to our local businesses, they are having an enormous input into the funding of this venture.

These are very exciting times for Cappoquin, as in less than 2 years we will have a state of the art hall, which can be converted into a theatre with stage and seating for up to 300 people. There will also be an IT room with 12 computer stations, together with an up to date childcare facility.
