Cappoquin Community Centre Construction Phase 2
Contractors Forrest & Walsh, along with steel sub contractors Norris Bros. have now entered phase two of development on our new community centre. We are also pleased to announce that a government grant of €390,000 has been provided for our onsite creche facilities. The second phase has started with the steelwork complete. Block laying is starting next week, being followed by the fitting of doors, windows and roof. Mechanical and electrical works will then follow. These are very exciting times for the town of Cappoquin , as in less than 2 years we should have our own sports hall, IT room, childcare facility consisting of a crèche and playschool. Our Sports hall can be converted into a theatre which can accommodate up to 300 people with a stage to cast any show.

Cappoquin Development Company Lotto:
The Cappoquin Development Company lotto Jackpot is now at €3,100 with many consolation prizes won every week.

Railway Athletic Football Club:
Junior training is underway again. The club is 25 years old , founded in 1980. During the year there will be many events held to mark this occasion.

Cappoquin Football Club:
The first phase of development is up and running , this provided dressing rooms and flood lighting of the pitch. The next phase of the development is to provide a training pitch and drainage of the main pitch. The club are holding a race night shortly to raise funds.

Cappoquin Juvenile Club:
This provides great enjoyment for the young children as young as 7 upwards. They have matches at weekends and train during the week playing indoor soccer in Lismore Community Hall until such time as the Cappoquin Community Centre is completed.

Affane Bridge Club:
This Club is going from strength to strength, with a membership of over 50. They will be celebrating their 21 years in place very shortly.
