Dawn Chorus Sponsored Walk |

Cappoquin Community Development Co Ltd.
• Dawn Chorus Sponsored walk will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd August, at 6am from Community Centre via Glenshelane Park, Newcastle Road, via Cappoquin Estate, Breakfast served at Cavanagh Hall on return.
Raffle on Card , for 12 month’s gym membership,proceeds towards community centre, cards available at company office, 058/52746. All are welcome.
• St Declan’s Way sponsored walk will take place on Friday 23rd July , leaving Lismore at 12 noon, stopping off in Cappoquin C ommunity Centre for facilities around 1-30pm, Sponsorship cards available from Mr Billy Harty, 086/8785222.
All are welcome.
• Summer Bridge continues every Monday night at Cappoquin Community Centre, organised by Affane Bridge club, any visitors in the area wish to play a game of bridge feel free to turn up on Mondays 7-30pm.
• Quidlers Mother & Toddler Group meet every Wednesday, 10-30am till 12pm , in the Cavanagh Hall, this is social networking of parents, so come along with your toddler and enjoy a chat & a coffee while the children avail of fun & games. |

SUMMER BARBEQUE 26th June |

Cappoquin Community Development Co Ltd.
Cappoquin Community Development Co ltd hosted a Barbeque on Saturday 26th June. This included Barbeque food cooked by local Chef Paul Deevy, music provided by DJ Michael O’ Rourke, great night enjoyed by all with 140 people attending.
Waterford Leader Partnership held an information morning on Health issues and security in the home, for the over 50’s on Tuesday 29th June in Cappoquin Community Centre. This will be followed up with workshops delivered by the HSE on Healthy lifestyles . These workshops will be held on Tuesdays 6th, 13th , 20th July , 10th ,17th & 24th August, 10am—12pm. The workshops are full but there is a reserved waiting list. Free Admission.
The Blood Bank were present on Thursday 1st July , in Cappoquin Community Centre, this was well attended. |

PRE-SCHOOL ECCE SCHEME:
Enrolement took place last week for the incoming pre-school children, there are five places remaining for afternoon sessions, which will take place on Tuesdays & Thursdays 1pm---3pm. A meeting of the local clubs was held on Tuesday 27th April at 8pm in Cappoquin Community Centre to discuss the progress of the town design plan. The Cappoquin Community Centre Gym is open six days a week,
Monday to Friday 8-30am—10pm,
Saturday 9am---5pm with reduced rates for students on Saturdays & evenings.

Gym Instruction available free of charge, on Saturday mornings and on one week night.
Open Daily through Lunch Hour & Free Parking .
Following extensive research Cappoqun Gym has the very best in cardiovascular and strength equipment. There are Life Fitness' treadmills. Within the gym, there is an extensive range equipment. This range is guaranteed to work every muscle group in the body, including back extension and abdominal pieces. Our strength area also houses a very large range of free weights. In total the gym accommodates many pieces of equipment, which will ensure no waiting time during busy periods.
It is compulsory to receive a fitness induction before using the gym for the first time. Fitness assessments and reassessments are provided for members every 4 - 6 weeks. An instructor will talk to you about your fitness goals, and how to achieve them. The Fitness Instructor will then design a specific programme for you to help obtain your goals.
On offer in the gym, are a large range of programmes available such as personal training, Healthy for Life (55+), & gym challenges . With all this on offer you are sure to find a fitness programme to suit your needs at Cappoquin Community Centre Gym.
Within the gym we have a fully trained instructor on duty twice a week, who is more than willing to advise on all aspects of training and healthy living. The gym has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere combined with state of the art equipment, which together makes it a motivating and enjoyable place to train.
Students over 16 Special Offer : students over 16 are invited to use the gym for €3 an hour before 6pm on weekdays and all day Saturday.What a way to spend your free time and become motivated for study.

Macra Na Feirme 2010 National Drama Finals |
MACRA NA FEIRME 2010 NATIONAL DRAMA FINALS:
This Competition will be held in the Cavanagh Hall, Cappoquin Community Centre, on Saturday 10th April and Sunday 11th April at 8pm. There will be six one act plays over two nights, (3 plays per night).
The Plays are as follows:
• “BABYSITTING CALVIN”------ Performed by: Kilcloon, Co Meath
• “A NIGHT OUT”------------------ Performed By: Tarmonbarry, Co Roscommon
• “THE SPINSTERS”--------------- Performed By: Ballycoog, Co Wicklow
• “MIRROR , MIRROR------------ Performed by: Carrigaline , Co Cork
• “THE HAPPY AND THE SLOB”------Performed by:Ballinascarthy, Cork
• “TILL WE MEET AGAIN---------------Performed by: Fethard, Co Tipperary.

VOLLEYBALL:
Macra Na Feirme used the Sportshall ,in Cappoquin Community Centre the past few weeks, for volleyball, well done to Kinsalebeg Macra who proved to be the winners and have qualified to go forward to the finals. This sport is proving to becoming most popular amongst the youth.
CAPPOQUIN CHILDCARE FACILITY:
EASTER RAFFLE Was held on Tuesday 30th March at Cappoquin Childcare Facility, Many thanks to all parents ,community & sponsors for supporting this raffle, the proceeds will go towards ARTS & CRAFTS materials for the Pre-School , Creche & After school service.

WEST WATERFORD TOURISM INITIATIVE:
A Public Meeting will be held on Thursday 15th April in Cappoquin Community Centre, at 8pm.This is to improve and encourage Tourism in West Waterford and the Blackwater . The meeting will be Chaired by Deputy John Deasy , together with his party colleague Deputy Dave Stauntan, East Cork . All are welcome.

The CHRISTY MOORE SHOW in Cappoquin on March 12th & 13th was a tremendous success. Christy was accompanied on guitar by Declan Sinnott. The Cavanagh Hall was packed to capacity with 600 people attending both nights. The music, lights, sound and the solace atmosphere was a plot not to forget.
